FL70 is ideal for field, laboratory testing, and Public Water Fluoridation Control. Fluoride is added to water to prevent tooth decay. However, too much fluoride can be harmful to teeth. The concentration recommended by the American Dental Association is 0.7-1.2ppm and the MCL established by the EPA is 4.0 ppm. Fluoride concentrations in some natural waters can exceed 4 ppm. The FL70 is capable of direct reading of total fluoride from 10.00 ppm or mg/L down to 0.01ppm, and the meter provides automatic temperature compensation.
